Kochi: Former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday inaugurated the new building of an official Kanya Higher Secondary school in Vandur, Kerala. Addressing the girl students on the occasion, he said that the most important thing for you is that you are capable of freedom. Rahul Gandhi also said that girls have to work harder than boys because it is the nature of the society that does not want them to be free.

Rahul Gandhi further said, "It is your responsibility to strengthen yourself and help yourself to be independent, but with humanity and dignity." MP Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day visit to the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency. Here he interacted with IUML and Congress leaders. Rahul Gandhi's visit comes in the wake of assembly elections in the state in April-May.

According to sources, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is preferring new faces as well as women in the election arena in the 140-member assembly elections. Earlier, Rahul Gandhi was on a three-day stay of the Western Belt in Tamil Nadu, where he interacted with farmers, weavers, and the general public.
