Rahul Gandhi again accuses the Centre over rising prices of LPG cylinders

New Delhi: Rahul Gandhi, a Congress leader and Memmebr, slammed the central government on Saturday (October 6) over rising LPG cylinder prices, saying Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "development vehicle is in reverse gear." Sharing concern over Twitter  Rahul Gandhi said: "Far away from the words of development, Millions of families were forced to light the wooden stove. Modi Ji's development vehicle is in reverse gear and brakes also fail."  

On October 6, oil companies increased the price of domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 15. On November 1, petroleum companies increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 266. Following the increase, a non-subsidised 14.2 kg domestic cylinder now costs Rs 899.50 in Delhi, while a 5 kg domestic cylinder costs Rs 502. In the national capital, 19 kg commercial cylinders cost Rs 2,000.50.

Gandhi and the Congress have consistently chastised the government for raising fuel prices. The government has been accused of extortion in the name of taxes on gasoline and diesel, according to the opposition party.
