New Delhi: Farmers' protests against the three agricultural laws passed by the Central government in Parliament have been going on for the past several months. As the monsoon session is underway in Parliament, the farmers' demonstration has reached Jantar Mantar. Hundreds of farmers have been camping here for the last several days. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, who has been consistently supporting this movement, will visit Jantar Mantar today along with many leaders.
Leader of opposition in Rajya sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Members of all opposition parties will visit Jantar Mantar today to support farmers' demand to repeal agricultural laws, which Rahul Gandhi will also participate in.'' After this, leaders of opposition parties will hold a meeting in Parliament today. Meanwhile, leaders of Congress and several other opposition parties will meet on Friday morning to chalk out a strategy ahead amid uproar in both houses of Parliament over the Pegasus case. Sources said the meeting of leaders of major opposition parties in both the Houses of Parliament will be held on Friday morning in the chamber of Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge at Parliament House.
The monsoon session of Parliament has been witnessing uproar in both the Houses since its inception over Pegasus and some other issues. The session started on 19th July, but so far the proceedings of both the Houses have been disrupted. Opposition parties are insisting that the deadlock in Parliament will end only after the government is ready to discuss the Pegasus espionage issue first.
