New Delhi: Farmers are protesting against the agriculture bills in several parts of the country. The country's main opposition party congress is standing with farmers. The Congress has supported the Bharat Bandh called by the farmers. Meanwhile, former party national president Rahul Gandhi and national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi have attacked the Modi government. Rahul Gandhi, MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala, said the new agricultural law will make farmers slaves.

In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi wrote that earlier GST destroyed MSMEs and now the new Agriculture Act will enslave farmers. Priyanka Vadra said that farmers will be stripped of minimum support price (MSP). They will be compelled to become slaves through contract farming. In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Farmers will not get price or respect. The farmers will become labourers on their own farm. BJP's agriculture bill reminds you of the East India Company. We will not allow these injustices to happen," he said.

Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, "Farmers are forced to stop the work, they will be enslaved. The egoistic Modi government did not see the agony of their mind nor the agony of their soul. Let's stand with the farmer-labourer with the decision of Bharat Bandh, resolve the struggle". He has used the 'Bharat Bandh'.
