NEW DELHI: For the third consecutive day, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office to join the probe into the National Herald case.

Rahul Gandhi has been interrogated for nearly 18 hours over the last two days. His statement is being recorded by a three-person team.  On Tuesday, Gandhi's interrogation ended about 10 p.m., but he departed the ED offices around 11.45 p.m.

His questioning had ended around 9 p.m. on Monday, but he apparently wanted to clarify a few points in his statements, and he had to wait for more hours at ED headquarters.

Gandhi was interrogated by agency authorities for many hours on Monday. After three hours, he was allowed a lunch break, and he proceeded to see his mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who is being treated at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He then returned to the ED's headquarters, where he was interrogated until late at night.

Gandhi was questioned regarding a few transactions made by Dotex Merchandise Pvt Ltd, a Kolkata-based company.
In this case, Sonia Gandhi has also been called. On June 23, she is expected to appear before ED.
