New Delhi: A key meeting of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee on Foreign Affairs was held on Saturday. Members from all parties including former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting. Quoting sources, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi has questioned India's strategy for a world divided between the US and China.
Rahul Gandhi questioned what is India's stand in the world between the US and China and what is India's global strategy. He also said that India needs to formulate a global strategy amidst changing circumstances. However, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar responded by saying that the world is moving towards the multipolar world and he does not think China is going to be so strong.
Rahul Gandhi has also expressed concern over the alliance between China and Pakistan. He also proposed to share the experiences of former Congress governments with the government. According to sources, Rahul also questioned India's stand in the midst of a conflict between the US and China. Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, BJP MP GVL Narasimha, Anand Sharma were also present at the meeting. Foreign Secretary Harsh Singla also made a presentation.
