New Delhi: Congress Member of parliament Rahul Gandhi on today (October 27) attacked the Central government days after India administered over 100 crore COVID-19 vaccination doses and criticized saying ‘jumla-version’ will not save lives.

Sharing Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s piece of writing on the vaccine milestone and citing a graph on the number of people yet to be vaccinated even with at least one dose, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, “Jumla-version of the vaccine story won’t save lives. Actual vaccination will.” The Congress also shared on social media Sonia Gandhi's article and quoted her, ''The PM likes to emphasize that vaccines are free, while conveniently forgetting that they have always been free. It is the BJP government that moved away from India's universal free vaccination policy.''

India on October 21 achieved the landmark of administering 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had tweeted, "India scripts history. We are seeing the triumph of Indian science, enterprise and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians. Congrats India on crossing 100 crore vaccinations. Gratitude to our doctors, nurses and all those who worked to achieve this feat."

As per Union Health Ministry data on Wednesday, India has administered a cumulative of 1,03,53,25,577 vaccination doses so far, out of which 55,89,124 jabs were given on Tuesday.
