Rahul Gandhi, the president Congress, and son of Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India is in talks with PA Ranjith, the well-known director who helmed movies like Kabali and Kaala for the biography of his father.

The director, Congress leader and actor Kalaiyarasan had a word with each other about the movie content and politics too in a meeting at Delhi. Rahul Gandhi revealed the same with his Twitter post that reads: “I met film director P A Ranjith the man behind blockbuster films like Madras, Kabali and Kaala and actor Kalaiyarasan, in Delhi yesterday. We talked about politics, films, and society. I enjoyed the interaction and look forward to continuing our dialogue.”

In an interaction with CNN-News18, the director expressed that “It was a two and a half hour meeting. I asked Rahul Gandhi if he is okay if convict Perarivalan is set free. He told me he has no objections if Perarivalan is granted pardon.” He also appreciated the politician with words: “IMP.meeting with @RahulGandhi abt politics&art.Discussed caste&religious bias threatening d core of our secular constitution.Thks for having me over Sir.Lookin forward for our discussion taking shape.A national leader engaging with ppl from all ideologies is very encouraging!”

Worthy to share that this is not the first time the son has given such verdict. In March where he was in a communication with IIM alumni in Singapore and was questioned that did he and his sister would be able to forgive his father’s killer he told them: “We were very upset and hurt, and for many years we were quite angry. But, somehow, [we have] completely ... in fact, completely [forgiven them]”. Though the answer put him in lots of trouble.

President Ram Nath Kovind in June only have dismissed the Tamil Nadu government’s plea where they asked to pardon and release all seven prisoners convicted for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on May 21, 1991. On this action of President Perarivalan's mother, Arputhammal requested mercy killing for his son as she is suffering a lot by seeing his son in this dreadful condition.

Home Ministry have received the same request from State government’s end to release the convicts on humanitarian ground.
