Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut today said in a statement on Tuesday that "Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has assured him that he will visit Maharashtra soon. In fact, Sanjay Raut's party Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress are in power in Maharashtra in the alliance. Sanjay Raut met Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi last Monday and also attended a breakfast meeting of leaders of opposition parties organized by the former Congress President at the Constitution Club in the national capital today i.e.

The meeting emphasized opposition unity. Talking to reporters in Delhi today, Sanjay Raut said, "We were going to have a meeting for some time. He (Rahul Gandhi) had some doubts which have now been cleared. He has assured to visit Maharashtra soon. He also said, "I will inform my party chief (Uddhav Thackeray) about the discussion on a possible alliance ahead of the next general elections. Rahul Gandhi was eager to know about Shiv Sena and its founder late Balasaheb Thackeray. They enquired about it.’’

Rahul Gandhi's invitation, leaders of many major opposition parties met at the constitution club for breakfast. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, Trinamool Congress leader Kalyan Banerjee, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, RJD's Manoj Jha and leaders of several other parties were present. Meanwhile, 150 leaders from 17 parties were present with whom Rahul Gandhi held a meeting. After the meeting, the Opposition took out a cycle march to Parliament. According to the information received, the cycle march was taken out to protest against the rising prices of petrol diesel.
