Ludhiana: Congress President Rahul Gandhi who is in Punjab to address election rallies took a break from campaigning on Wednesday to try his hands at riding a tractor. Flanked by Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Gandhi drove a tractor at a farm in Ludhiana.

The official Twitter account of the Congress shared a video of a smiling Gandhi driving the tractor, while the Punjab CM, Ludhiana MP Ravneet Bittu and Congress leader Asha Kumari sat beside him.

Singh also shared the video on his Twitter account and lauded Gandhi's driving skills, saying that it proved that the Congress chief was also ready to handle the "wheels" of the nation. He captioned the pic as  “Found @RahulGandhi to be greater driver when he took @INCIndia steering wheel. But today’s enjoyable tractor ride with him showed he could drive anything, most of all our nation. Any day better than the ride @narendramodi took us on in 2014! Time to hand over the wheels to Rahul!”

 

Rahul Gandhi is in Punjab where all the 14 Lok Sabha seats, including Ludhiana, will go to polls in the last phase of 2019 General elections on May 19.

Addressing a rally in Ludhiana, Gandhi again took a dig at PM Narendra Modi over the demonetisation issue and the Goods and Services Tax (GST). 

The Congress chief also spoke at a rally in Faridkot's Bargari in Punjab, backing Congress candidate Mohd Sadique from Faridkot Lok Sabha seat.
