New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. This led him to bow his forehead at Khirbhavani temple in Ganderbal district on Tuesday. This is Rahul Gandhi's first visit after article 370 was removed from the State. Rahul Gandhi said in Srinagar that he has an old relationship with Jammu and Kashmir. He has attacked the Centre. Rahul Gandhi said, "Our family lives in Delhi, before that in Allahabad and before that in Kashmir. I also believe in Kashmiriyat. A little part of it is also in my veins."

He said, "We tried to solve Kashmir differently with love and connection, but the BJP has broken all good deeds. We know that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are hurt. I want a relationship of love and understanding. I will stand by you and fight to give you the status of a state. I am also visiting Jammu and Ladakh. This is the beginning. I was stopped at the airport two years ago and now I will come again and again."

We wanted to raise the issue of pegasus, unemployment, Kashmir, corruption, but the sanction was not given, he said, raising the issue of Parliament. Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. He criticized the Centre for the August 5 move. He said, 16500 persons were jailed, even former Chief Ministers were not spared. Gandhi shared the stage with senior party colleague Ghulam Nabi Azad who criticized the Centre for the August 5 decision.
