Coimbatore: On Saturday morning, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived at Coimbatore airport aboard an IndiGo flight from Delhi.

During his two-day sojourn spanning Tamil Nadu and Kerala, commencing today, Gandhi will also pay a visit to Udhagamandalam (Ooty).

Subsequently, Gandhi is slated to undertake a road journey to Wayanad, his parliamentary stronghold in Kerala. This marks his inaugural visit since his reinstatement as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha, following a stay order from the Supreme Court regarding his conviction in the 'Modi' surname case.

While in Kerala, the Congress leader will partake in public gatherings and play a pivotal role in the ceremony for the handover of nine houses constructed under the Kaithangu Project in Kalpetta.

VT Siddique, the Working President of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, conveyed that Gandhi is set to attend a meeting of the district Congress Committee. Siddique further stated, "Wayanad is poised to extend an exceedingly warm welcome, unprecedented in its history, to Rahul Gandhi."

Reliable sources have indicated that the Congress MP is charting a course for Europe, encompassing three countries – Belgium, Norway, and France – in the second week of September. During this sojourn, he plans to engage with European Union Parliamentarians, the Indian diaspora, and university scholars.

In the meantime, Gandhi addressed the Lok Sabha amidst a no-confidence motion presented by his party against the central government led by PM Modi. The motion, tabled by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi and endorsed by the Opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A (Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance), suffered defeat on Thursday following an address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Gandhi launched a vehement assault on PM Modi's Lok Sabha discourse during the no-confidence motion, asserting that it was unbecoming of the Prime Minister to indulge in laughter and jests within the Parliament while Manipur remained "engulfed in flames" for over three months.
