Bhopal: Congress leader and former MP from Guna Lok Sabha seat Jyotiraditya Scindia says Rahul Gandhi has resigned as Congress President and now the party should elect a new President as soon as possible. Rahul Gandhi had announced his resignation long ago, the time is passing very fast. So it is now necessary that Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi choose an energetic leader as soon as possible.

Referring to his name in the presidential race, he said, "I have never been in the presidential race. I have neither fought nor fought any further in the power race so far," he said of the new Congress president, saying, "That's what I just want to say should be a quick decision." Time is running out and it is imperative for the party to choose a top leader for the presidency. This decision has to be taken by everybody together," he said.

On the other hand, Scindia said, "I never play on the backfoot, always play on the front foot. We are responsible for the defeat. There must have been some shortages, which were lost, but now i would work hard and win the confidence of the people," said Scindia on farmer loan waiver, "I promise that if 55 lakh farmers's loan are not forgiven, I will fight for their rights myself.
