New Delhi: Former Congress President and MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in Kerala, Rahul Gandhi has again attacked the Modi government. In a tweet, he wrote, "The country is constantly reeling under the Modi-made disaster. Stories of starvation deaths, especially children, are shocking. When there are more foodgrains in the godown, how can the Government of India allow it?"

Earlier, Rahul had agitated over the Centre over the Hunger Index report. He attacked the government over India's position in the Global Hunger Index-2020. The Global Hunger Index ranks India 94th among 107 countries in terms of hunger. In a tweet, Gandhi wrote, "India's poor are hungry because the government is only trying to fill the pockets of some of its special 'friends'."

India is also lagging behind Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan in the Global Hunger Index-2020. According to the report, India is suffering from a level of starvation that is considered to be extremely severe. On PM Modi's address, Rahul, who visited his constituency Wayanad on Wednesday, said the PM is afraid to name China. The PM has not made a statement on China a single time.
