Amritsar: Congress continues to protest against the agriculture law. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi is currently leading a farming Bachao yatra in Punjab. Addressing a rally in Sangrur on Monday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that for the last six years, the Modi government has been hitting only farmers and the poor.

Rahul Gandhi said that "Every policy of the Union Government is designed for two or four friends only. First demonetization, then GST was implemented. The entire country was on the streets by demonetization. Rahul said that the farmer could go to the Mandi now, but after these new laws, the farmer will not have that option. The Congress leader said there are loopholes in the Mandi system, but it needs to be strengthened".

Rahul Gandhi said that there is a need to work for farmers, but Modiji is not doing that. They are eliminating this whole system. As demonetization has hurt the poor, farmers are being harmed through these laws. Rahul Gandhi said the Modi government had felt that the farmers would not protest because of the on going pandemic, but the farmers would take to the streets against the law and the Congress party would stay with the farmers.
