New Delhi: Former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi shared a video on his YouTube channel on Thursday (September 2, 2021) recalling the days when he used to sit and enjoy an airplane with his father Rajiv Gandhi. In his video, he said that being a pilot also teaches a lot in public life and develops a view of seeing things on a large scale.

This 5 minutes 48-second video of Rahul Gandhi was made at the Rajiv Gandhi Photo Exhibition organized by the Indian Youth Congress. In it, he is seen remembering the moments he spent with his father. Rahul explains how his father used to ask him the names of the parts of the plane. Later, when he went to college, he also learned to fly. Rahul also recalled the plane crash with his uncle Sanjay Gandhi. "My uncle was flying a special kind of plane - it was Pitts," he explained. It was a very aggressive plane. My father told him not to do this. My uncle didn't have that much experience. Rahul Gandhi said that my uncle (Sanjay) had the experience of flying a plane for three to three and a half hundred hours, that is, as much as I have. They shouldn't have flown that plane, But he flew. And the same thing happened when there was no experience of flying. One can easily take one's own life.

Let me tell you that Sanjay Gandhi died in a plane crash near Safdarjung Airport on June 23, 1980. Rahul further points out that whenever his father used to fly, his mother was very worried. She used to say, "He has gone to fly a plane, it will be quite dangerous.''
