Kolkata: Before the assembly elections in West Bengal, there is a confusion on the seat sharing between the Congress and the Left. The effect of this is that Rahul Gandhi, former national president of Congress, will no longer attend the joint rally of the two parties to be held in Bengal. A joint rally of Left parties and Congress is to be held in Kolkata on Sunday, now Rahul will not go in it.

In place of Rahul Gandhi, Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will take part in the rally on behalf of the Congress. In Bengal, the Congress and the Left parties have announced to contest the elections together, but no agreement has been done on the seats. It seems to have an effect on rallies. On the other hand, Rahul Gandhi will be visiting Tamil Nadu from 27 February to 1 March. He is still on a tour of Kerala and continues to focus on elections in the southern states.

During the Kerala tour, the Left government was targeted by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he attacked the Left fiercely. Now that the Congress and the left parties are preparing to contest the elections together in Bengal, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has got another opportunity to surround them. This time the main battle in West Bengal assembly elections is happening between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
