Buxar: On the direction of the state headquarters of Bihar, raids were carried out in various districts of the state as well as in Buxar jail. According to the headquarters directive, a raid operation was also launched in Buxar around 10:30 a.m. During the operation, police personnel from various police stations including District Magistrate Raghavendra Singh, Reserve Superintendent Upendra Nath Verma, Divisional Officer Krishna Kumar Upadhyay, Mandal Police Officer Satish Kumar were present.

After more than two hours of search operation, cash and two SIM cards have been recovered from the jail. Buxar Superintendent of Police Upendra Nath Verma said, 5,100 rupees cash and two SIM cards and two pudiya ganja have been recovered from the spot, which was thrown in the middle of a gas cylinder in the kitchen during the hour-long operation. He said that the materials found in addition to the materials in the jail appear to be extremely weak in the security system of the jail. Security will be enhanced.

Security is being questioned in Buxar. It  also had a jail break incident on December 30, 2016. In which 5 criminals escaped from jail. The Buxar jail is also considered to be highly sensitive.
