Palamu: Police raided some places in the Palamu district of Jharkhand on Monday. Police have recovered 38 kg of Ganja while four women and two men involved in the business have been arrested. The arrested persons have been identified as Bablu Gupta, Pappu Gupta, Anita Devi, Pushpa Devi, Durga Devi and Sabita Devi. The police will interrogate the detained persons and investigate the network of Ganja smuggling.
Acting on a secret complaint, Police raided three houses on Madhushala Road in the Husainabad police station area and recovered Ganja worth Rs 4 lakh and arrested six persons from there. He also said that Ganja was brought from the Sasaram district of Bihar and was being packed in jute bags for sale in Palamu.
In addition to 38 kg Ganja, 25 Chillam, Rs.6800 cash, four weighing machines. The criminals have been booked under the NDPS Act and produced before a court from where they were remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.
