Lucknow: The United Kisan Morcha today announced a six-hour nationwide 'Rail Roko' agitation demanding the removal of Union Minister of State Ajay Mishra Teni from the Union Cabinet. Agitators belonging to farmers' organizations will jam the railway track from 10 am to 4 pm on Monday. The minister's son Ashish Mishra Teni has been arrested in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case.

Police and administration have also issued an alert over security arrangements in view of the rail Roko agitation. Lucknow Police had said that police will take action against those who have joined the 'Rail Roko Andolan' of Kisan Sangathan. 144 CRPC has also been imposed in the district and if anyone tries to disturb the normal symbiosis, action will be taken under the National Security Act (NSA).

Earlier, the United Kisan Morcha in a statement issued on Sunday said that there will be a demand for the dismissal of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra as a minister in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case and arrest him immediately so that justice can be secured in Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Train services will be stopped on October 18 as part of the movement announced. Farmers' organizations have said that rail Roko will be peaceful without damaging railway property.
