Railway achieves a key milestone with electrification of entire Broad Gauge Network in UP

NEW DELHI: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his happiness over the Uttar Pradesh broad gauge rail network's complete electrification. With the completion of the North Eastern Railway's Subhagpur-Pachperwa Broad Gauge (BG) section on Tuesday, the railways reached a critical milestone by electrifying all broad guage routes in Uttar Pradesh.

The Railway Ministry tweeted that the state's entire broad gauge rail network had been electrified, to which the prime minister replied, "Very nice!

The East Coast Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway, Eastern Railway, South Eastern Railway, and West Central Railway are the six railway zones where the electrification of broad gauge routes has been completed by the Railways.

Moreover, the Jhansi-Muzzaffarpur-Katni Heavily Utilized Network (HUN-5) is now entirely electrified.
The connectivity between Jhansi, Lucknow, Barabanki, Burhwal, Gonda, Anandnagar, Gorakhpur, Valmikinagar, Sugauli, Muzzaffarpur, Bachwara, and Narkatiyaganj-Raxual will be improved as a result.

Sitamarhi-Muzzaffarpur-Hazipur, Sitamarhi-Darbhanga-Samastipur, including Bhatni-Varanasi?Naini(Allahabad)-Manikpur-Satna-Katni and Chhapra-Varanasi.

Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated Indian Railways for accomplishing this remarkable feat.

The Indian Railways released a statement saying, "With 85% of route kilometres electrified, Indian Railways is swiftly progressing to complete Mission 100% electrification and become the greatest green railway network in the world."
