New Delhi: A big news for women candidates wishing to get a job in the Indian Railways. Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal has announced that more than 9,000 constables and 50 per cent posts will be given to women in the recruitment of sub-inspector posts in the Railways. I.e. 50 percent of the positions will be recruited only for women.  These will prove to be a golden opportunity for women.

It is worth mentioning here that in January 2019, the Indian Railways had announced a decision to employ more than 4 lakh people under 10 per cent reservation by 2021. It was stated that the recruitment process would be started soon. Piyush Goyal had said that at present, Indian Railways has an sanctioned strength of 15.06 lakh employees, out of which 12.23 lakh employees are employed while the remaining 2.82 lakh posts are vacant.

Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said, "Last year, we started the recruitment process for more than 1.51 lakh posts. In which 1.31 lakh posts were left vacant. At the same time, 99,000 vacancies will be vacated in the coming two years. Because the railway employees currently working will retire.
