Indore: The railway station of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh will also look smart very soon. Ministry of Railways has selected 3 stations, in which Indore railway station has been placed on priority. Though earlier the station was to be beautified and some facilities were to be augmented, now in view of the coming 50 years, a strategy has been formulated to build state-of-the-art passenger amenities as well as malls, big parking and offices for railway officials at the entire station. In fact, in the past, MP Shankar Lalwani had a meeting with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, in which he had discussed the facilities available to the passengers at the railway station. A survey has already been conducted on this strategy. Then, now another survey is being conducted, in which a detailed estimate report will be prepared in view of the next 50 years and the work will be started soon.  

The Railway Minister has also directed The General Manager of Western Railway, AK Lahoti to float a tender in this regard. At present, the space near this station is less, so the land on the other side of the road will also be used and the existing railway buildings, reservation offices, railway hospitals, and railway police lines will also be replaced. It is being said that Indore has been selected in 3 stations of the country. Stations like New Jalpaiguri and Visakhapatnam are also included. The development of the Indore railway station will be done by the western railway itself, the orders of which have been issued. They should prepare a tender for the detailed estimate report, which can be cleared soon. The work of Jalpaiguri station has been entrusted to North-East Frontier Railway and Visakhapatnam to Rail Land Development Authority.
