Indian Railways is planning to speed up trains running on two routes from Delhi to Mumbai and Delhi to Howrah. The train running on these routes is going to run at a speed of 130 km per hour. This is being done so that, in a short time, faster passenger can reach from one place to another.

Throwing light on the matter, Member (Signal and Telecom), Railway Board Pradeep Kumar said that the Delhi-Howrah and Delhi-Mumbai routes are almost ready for fitness and signaling consideration. Trains are running at a speed of 130 km per hour on this route. In this financial year, trains are expected to run at these speeds on these two routes.

In his statement, Kumar further said that as announced earlier, we will run trains at a speed of 130 km per hour in the future. For this, work is going on in all projects. He said that for the past few years, the Railways are constantly making efforts to improve the speed of trains. We are technically upgrading all tracks, signals, coaches, etc. Kumar further said that it is our endeavor to introduce new Linke-Hoffman-Bus (LHB) coaches for most trains, which will improve the comfort of travel and increase the speed to 120-130 kmph, provided that the track Fitness, signals, and other technical things are in favorable conditions.
