New Delhi: People have been relieved from scorching heat by the rain and hailstorm on Tuesday in the mountains area. According to zonal meteorological departments, several areas have been forecast for rain as well as strong winds on Wednesday.

According to the information, Himachal had a severe heat till Tuesday afternoon. The capital Shimla and Dharamsala had the hottest day of the season. The rain lashed the capital Shimla and Sirmaur Nauhdhar in the afternoon. Rain in some areas of Kullu and Mandi also brought respite to the people from the heat. Apart from the world famous Rohtang Pass, the high peaks of Kullu and Lahaul also resulted in mild snowfall in Kumjumam Pass, Baralacha. The province has also issued a warning of strong winds on Wednesday.

With this, there was rain in Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib on Tuesday afternoon. The rain has caused severe cold in the Hemkund Sahib area. In Joshimath area, the rain has also helped the local people to get relief from the scorching heat. In the lower reaches of the district, there were strong winds by evening but there was no rain.
