Jammu: There has been a lot of damage in the last few days due to heavy rainfall in many areas of the country. Normal life has been disturbed due to rains during the last 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, three people, including a couple, died due to lightning on the mountains of Pirpanjal in Surankot, Poonch city. While heavy rains in Ramban caused traffic to fall in the Morn Ghori area, the movement was completely blocked on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway at around 8 am on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, traffic was restored for some time at eleven and a half, but after the rainfall, traffic could not resume until seven in the evening. On the other hand, on the route connecting Ramnagar to Udhampur, road was blocked for 15 hours. Due to rain, traffic was disrupted in many areas of various cities of Jammu division. According to information received from Poonch, lightning fell in Gumsar Dhok area located in the mountains of Pirpanjal at around 11.30 pm on Monday.

In the traumatic incident, three people including the couple died on the spot, while the couple's young child was badly burnt. The deceased have been identified as Mohammed Hisak (35) and Zarina Akhtar (35), resident of village Lathung and Javed Ahmed (38) of resident village Lassa. Significantly, these days thousands of people of Gujjar and Bakkarwal community are camping with animals on the mountains of Pirpanjal.
