New Delhi: Several states, including the national capital, have witnessed a sharp drop in temperature following rain. In fact, due to the fall in temperature, the melting and thitheran have once again increased. Let me tell you that north west and central India can record a drop in minimum temperature by 3 to 4 degrees. In addition, it is feared that light to moderate rain may occur over western Himalayas in the next 24 hours. At the same time, snowfall is also expected at different places.

On the other hand, according to skymet weather report, light to moderate rainfall has occurred in different parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Eastern Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, East Gujarat and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the last 24 hours. Moreover, some parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have received snowfall after which the cold wave has intensified.

The report revealed that light to moderate rain is expected in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, South Konkan, Goa and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during the next 24 hours. There may be snowfall in different parts of the western Himalayas, causing the minimum temperature to drop by 3 to 4 degrees in northwest and central India.

Delhi recorded a total rainfall of 88.2 mm in January this year following late saturday night rains, the highest rainfall in the month since 1901. Also tell you that earlier the capital received 79.7 mm rainfall in 1989 and 73.7 mm in 1953. In Uttarakhand, on the other hand, incessant rains have caused heavy snowfall at high altitudes which has broken records for many years. With this, fresh snowfall occurred in many parts of Kashmir valley while other areas have witnessed rain.
