Raipur: Has an undeclared ban on Pakistani singers been imposed in Raipur radio station? This is because the songs of about 25 Pakistani singers, including Ghulam Ali, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from AIR Station, are no longer being played in any programme. Even their cassettes have been removed from the music library.

One listener told the media on condition of anonymity that songs sung by Pakistani singers were not being played even after the last several months. A phone call at the AIR centre revealed that such instructions have been given from Delhi itself. The songs of Pakistani singers are said to have been banned since the Pulwama attack. Air India Radio (AIR) has also been broadcast keeping in mind the sentiments of the country. He said that many times not officially, but verbal instructions are given.

Assistant Programme Officer LL Bhorya said, "We live in India. It is necessary to keep in mind the spirit of the country.
