Raj Babbar, the famous actor and politician in Bollywood films, today means his birthday on 23rd June. After graduating from Delhi's National School of Drama, Raj Babbar started doing theatre. 

Raj Babbar got his first break in Bollywood in 1977 with Kissa Kursi. He was accompanied by Reena Roy in this film. At the same time, he got recognition for the 1980 film 'Insaf Ka Tarazu.' In this film, his character was that of a rapist who is shot by the heroine of the film. Raj Babbar played all kinds of roles in his film career. He romanced, became a hero, and became a villain too. He became popular for taking every role to life and making it a hit. Raj Babbar married Nadira Zaheer. After getting married, he fell in love with Bollywood actress Smita Patil. His relationship with Smita was such that he even forgot his family. Discussions of his relationship started everywhere. The two worked together in the film Bheegi Palak. At that time Raj Babbar also had two children. Even after this, he decided to marry Smita. Both were in live-in for a long time. Smita Patil died suddenly on 13 December 1986. Raj Babbar returned to his first wife after Smita's death. Raj Babbar has 3 children. Prateik Babbar is Smita Patil's son while Juhi and Arya Babbar are Nadira's children.
