"Raj Kundra earned lakhs daily, business grew rapidly during lockdown"; Joint Commissioner Mumbai

On Tuesday Mumbai Police made a shocking revelation about arrested businessman Raj Kundra shared several details on his companies used to operate adult film rackets. According to the Mumbai Crime Branch, Kundra’s business earned a lot during the lockdown. In a press conference, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Milind Bharambe said that "Kundra started this business only 18 months back, but it flourished in lockdown and earned lakhs on a daily basis. Bharambe revealed that he forged a partnership with his UK-based brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi’s Kenrin Ltd.

Bharambe said, “Since he cannot upload these videos from India to an app called Hotshot, he provided the content on a foreign platform by sending the videos through WeTransfer. All the content was created in his office and was based in London. The company was sent to Kenrin. Ltd., owned by his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi.”Raj Kundra earned lakhs daily due to the increase in business. Where he initially earned Rs 2-3 lakh per day, it increased to Rs 6-8 lakh per day. Bharambe said, “The documents of financial transactions are in thousands. We are analyzing the details to get the exact income. This will be treated as proceeds of crime. Till now, we have deposited Rs 7.5 crore in various accounts."

Bharambe said, “The free-to-download app Hotshots was blocked by both Apple and Google Playstore for the type of content it contains. Mumbai Police has recovered incriminating evidence like several Hotshot movies, video clips, WhatsApp chats, etc. during the investigation. ” In the media meeting on Tuesday.
