Rajanna-Sircilla: In a remarkable achievement, the district administration has successfully covered 98.5 percent of the population of the district under the Kovid-19 vaccination program. District Collector Anurag Jayanti posted the achievement on Twitter on Wednesday. "Under the directions and guidelines of MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao, Rajanna-Sircilla district has completed the first dose of COVID vaccination for more than 98.51 per cent of the district's population, covering all interested adults". Responding to the district collector's tweet, Rama Rao congratulated the district administration, saying, "Congratulations Collector Garu and the DM&HO team."
59,442 from Sircilla Municipality, 25,998 from Vemulawada Municipality and 2,62,137 people from different gram panchayats have been vaccinated. Of the 3,52,846 people over the age of 18, 3,47,577 have received at least the first dose of the vaccine so far. Only 5,269 people have not been vaccinated. Due to the low pressure over the Bay of Bengal surface, moderate to heavy rains are expected in isolated parts of Telangana on Thursday. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rain on Friday as well.
Telangana has received more than twice the normal rainfall in September. According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the state recorded 275 mm of excess rainfall in September against the normal rainfall of 122 mm. Of all the districts in the state, Nirmal recorded the highest rainfall of 1,410 mm in the last four months. Notably, none of the 33 districts received deficient rainfall this monsoon.
