Jaipur: In Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, police arrested a 42-year-old man on charges of killing his elder sister after raping her. Police have said that the accused had also taken away the sister's gold earrings before exiting the house. Bhilwara SP Harendra Mahawar has told that the body of 48-year-old Bhagwati Punjabi was found on 25 February.

Police said the deceased had bleeding from his mouth, ears, and nose. His brother Pappu Singh told that when he reached home for lunch, his neighbors told that his sister had not left the house since morning. Then when I went to her house, I found her dead. The SP said that on the basis of the information, the police took his 42-year-old second brother Kalu Singh Punjabi in custody for questioning. During interrogation, he confessed his crime.

He told that the sister raped Bhagwati Punjabi and strangled her when she threatened to tell the other brother in this regard. The accused told that he robbed the earrings after the murder so that, this case looks like a murder. A case has been registered against accused Kalu Singh under sections 397 (robbery or attempt to robbery), 376 (rape) and 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
