Jaipur: A major train accident took place in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer on Tuesday morning in which 15 coaches of a goods train derailed. The accident took place between Thaiyat Hameera and Jetha Chandhan railway station. Due to the accident, rail traffic between Jaisalmer-Jodhpur was disrupted. The railways have cancelled many trains.

In Jaisalmer, 15 coaches of a goods train carrying limestone from Sonu railway station derailed between Thiyat Hameera and Jetha Chandhan railway station on Tuesday morning. During the accident, the limestone filler in the compartments was scattered on the tracks and the tracks were also damaged. As soon as the accident was reported, the Railway Jodhpur Division has dispatched QRT. Several high officials have also reached the spot. Earlier on Saturday, some coaches of a goods train derailed on the Mathura-Palwal route in the Agra division of the North Central Railway.

Due to this, traffic on the Agra-Delhi rail route was blocked. Due to the derailment of the goods train, 10 trains on the route were cancelled. At the same time, the routes of many trains were diverted. As soon as the incident was reported, railway officials and RPF personnel rushed to the spot and the wagons of the goods train were removed with the help of JCB.
