Jaipur: A special court in POCSO cases in Rajasthan's capital Jaipur has sentenced a stepbrother to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3 lakh for raping his sister for a long time. The stepbrother had been raping his 16-year-old sister for a long time. The court pronounced the sentence and asked that the accused be kept in jail for his entire life. POCSO court judge Sandeep Kumar Sharma passed the order on Wednesday. The court said the accused had raped his younger minor sister more than once as a half brother. That's when the victim's mother is not present.

When the same victim told her father about it, her father beat her up upside down and threw her out of the house. Not only that but there was also an attempt to declare her mentally insane. Meanwhile, the victim's uncle kept her in his house. The victim stayed at her uncle's house and sought help on the helpline number. Hearing the case, Judge Sandeep Kumar Sharma said that the oral testimony and medical report of the victim are sufficient evidence to convict the accused in the case. The act of the accused is very serious and disgusting and cannot be lenient. Public prosecutor Vijaya Pareek said the victim had lodged a complaint with the Phagi police station on October 27, 2017.

It said that his father had two marriages and that both wives passed away. The victim is the child of her father's second wife. The victim's stepmother's son has been raping her since childhood and keeps raping her day in and day out. The victim said in her complaint that when she told the family about the case, they assaulted her and tried to declare her crazy, during which the father threw her out of the house and she started living in her uncle's house. The woman later underwent treatment with the helpline and lodged a complaint. Police took action on the victim's report and registered a case against the accused and submitted the challan in the court after which the accused has now been sentenced.
