Jaipur: In a shocking incident, Bhanwar Singh, the Rajasthan chief of Rajput Karni Sena, was shot during a meeting of the organization in Udaipur on Sunday. Reports indicate that the alleged shooter, a former member of the outfit, has been arrested by the police.

Bhanwar Singh sustained bullet injuries to his spinal cord and is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The attack occurred during an ongoing meeting of the Rajput Karni Sena in Udaipur. Multiple videos have surfaced showing locals confronting and thrashing the accused individual. Police swiftly arrived at the scene to manage the situation and subsequently apprehended the assailant.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the shooting might have stemmed from an old enmity. The national president of Rajput Karni Sena, Mahipal Makrana, asserted that the attack was politically motivated, aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Karni Sena. It's worth noting that as the Rajasthan assembly elections approach later this year, the Karni Sena has been actively organizing events and gatherings, targeting the Rajput vote bank.
