Churu: A major action has been taken against the policemen for the death of a young man and the gang rape of his sister-in-law in custody in Churu district of Rajasthan. In this case, 6 policemen including SP, APO, CO have been suspended. Earlier, a case was registered against six police personnel including SHO Ranveer Singh of Sardarshahar Police Station. The case was also investigated by CID CB Jaipur.

It is worth mentioning that a 22-year-old youth was killed in police custody in Churu. The family members have alleged that the brother-in-law of the deceased was detained illegally and raped by the police for eight days in connection with the theft case. The victim's husband told the press on Saturday that 'my brother (dead) was arrested by the police on June 30. On July 3, the police came home and took my wife with her on the same day. Then, on the night of 6-7 July, my brother was given a lot of torchand and then he was murdered.

The brother of the deceased said that my wife is a witness to it. The police gang-raped my wife. The police uprooted my wife's nails and hurt my eyes too.' Churu Superintendent of Police Rajendra Kumar was removed from the post and put on the waiting list after the case came to the spotlight. A head constable and six constables were suspended along with the SHO following the death of the young man in police custody.
