Jaipur: Following the incident of stone-pelting on the julus of Gudi Padwa in Karauli district of Rajasthan on Saturday (April 2, 2022), the Congress-led government in Rajasthan has imposed a ban on hoisting of religious flags at houses. At the same time, there has been a ban on playing DJs during processions and Shobha yatras. These restrictions have been imposed to mark Hindu festivals like Durga Ashtami, Ram Navami, Mahavir Jayanti and Hanuman Jayanti etc. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) has been imposed in several districts of the state.

According to media reports, the state government has banned the use of religious flags or their installation in private places. During this time, the use of loudspeakers is banned. According to the decree issued, any person or institution must mandatorily seek first permission to use a DJ in any event or celebration. As per the guidelines, the organisers will have to submit an affidavit and a letter of request for the use of processions, rallies and DJ systems. At the same time, information about the content to be played through the DJ system will also have to be given. The police will also check in their checklist whether they have checked the DJ's content or not.

At the same time, the Rajasthan government has said that people will not be allowed to stand on the rooftops of their houses to witness the Shobha Yatra passing in front of the house. According to media reports, drones will be monitored during the procession and all the houses coming in the way of the procession will be locked from outside by the Rajasthan Police. To reduce noise pollution, loudspeakers have been banned in all public and religious places. Prior permission will be mandatory for this. After which they will be given this permission between 6 am and 10 pm.

What is surprising is that the administration, which seems so concerned about the 'noise pollution' caused by the use of loudspeakers during Hindu festivals, turns a blind eye to the use of loudspeakers five times in a single day during the Azan. It is also worth noting that the ban came into force on April 7, 2022, and will remain in effect till May 9. Meanwhile, Hindu festivals like Mahavir Jayanti, Durga Ashtami, Ambedkar Jayanti, Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti are coming up. A shop and a bike were set on fire after stone pelting at a bike rally passing through a Muslim-dominated area on the occasion of Hindu New Year (Nav Samvatsar) on Saturday (April 2, 2022) in Futa Kot area of Karauli district of Rajasthan, triggering tension in the area.

Let us know that the Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan had given instructions to supply electricity to Muslim-dominated areas without any interruption in the holy month of Ramzan. Jodhpur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited had issued a directive stating that there will be no power cuts in any Muslim-dominated area during the entire month of Ramzan.
