Kota: The state's Ashok Gehlot government has removed the medical superintendent of the hospital after the uproar over the death of 9 infants within 24 hours at the Government JK Lone Hospital in Kota district in Rajasthan. Apart from removing the medical superintendent of JK Lone Hospital, the head of the Department of Pediatrics has also been removed from his post.

It is noteworthy that Dr Ashok Mundra has been appointed as the new Medical Superintendent of JK Lone Hospital in place of Dr SC Dulara. Dr Mundra was earlier working as the Head of Department of Forensic Department. Dr AL Berwa has been replaced by Dr Amrita Mayangar as the head of the Department of Pediatrics. JK Lone Hospital in Kota city of Rajasthan created a ruckus after the death of 9 infants, following which the Rajasthan government constituted a four-member committee to investigate, which went to Kota last week. The committee was asked to submit its report in three working days.

Five of these 9 infants died on Wednesday night of last week, after which many families created a ruckus in the hospital premises. Family members have accused the hospital's medical staff of negligence.
