Rajasthan: High voltage electric wire breaks in Kota, 18 deaths due to current

Kota: The fire broke out near the pole when a 33 kV line broke near a drain in Indra Vihar area of Jawahar Nagar police station area of Kota town of Rajasthan. About half a dozen cattle have died due to the current. After receiving information, the fire brigade and power company KEDL personnel rushed to the spot and launched rescue and relief operations.

The rain was also continuing in Kota town late in the night during the incident. In the meantime, the employees of KEDL immediately stopped supplying electricity. The incident is being reported at 8:30 a.m. According to information, 33 KV electric wire broke near a Namchi coaching institute in Indra Vihar area. This led to the spread of currents in the surrounding areas. Meanwhile, cattle in the nearby cattle enclosure were also hit by the current.

The Jawahar Nagar Police also rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident. Eyewitnesses said that due to Sunday's holiday, the movement of students in coaching institutes was low. That led to averting a major accident.
