Jaipur: The son of Congress MLA Johri Lal Meena in Rajasthan's Dausa district has been accused of gang-raping a minor girl. Four others have also been charged in the same case. All of them are also accused of making obscene videos of the victim and blackmailing her. Police have registered a case in the case and started an investigation. All the accused have been booked under the Pocso Act and other sections. The incident is said to have taken place on February 24, 2021.

According to the local Mandawar police station in-charge, "The name of the MLA's accused son is Deepak. There is a Netram with them. They gang-raped a minor by feeding her a drug at the Samleti Palace Hotel in my police station area. During this time, they took nude photos of her (victim). They again blackmailed the victim by showing those obscene pictures. During this time, they also took 15 lakh 40 thousand rupees and jewellery kept in the house of the victim. They also threatened to kill the family if he complained. The matter is being investigated by CO (DSP) Mahuva. '

According to media reports, the victim is 15 years old. She is a class 10 student. The victim met Vivek Sharma, a resident of Thumra in Alwar, through Facebook. On February 24, 2021, Vivek Sharma had gang-raped the victim in a hotel. Congress MLA Johri Lal Meena's son Deepak and two other accused were also involved. The video of the rape was made by the main accused Vivek. Showing this video, Vivek raped the victim several times and asked for money. The marriage took place in May 2021 at the victim's house. During this time, fearing the threats of Vivek, the victim quietly gave 15 lakh 40 thousand rupees kept for marriage in the house to Vivek. A complaint in this regard was lodged at Raini police station in Alwar. The police investigated and reached out to the main accused Vivek. Vivek had accepted to give the money by the victim.

Even after confessing to taking money in front of the police, Vivek continued to blackmail and rape the victim. When the victim's health started deteriorating often, her mother asked the reason for it on March 24, 2022. She finally told everything to her mother the truth. The victim's family then lodged a complaint in the matter. On this whole issue, Congress MLA Johri Lal Meena has described his son as innocent. "Someone has informed me about this matter over the phone. My son is being falsely implicated and he is innocent.''

Congress MLA Johri Lal, who is calling his son innocent, has also been accused in the rape case. In April 2019, a widowed woman accused him of raping her several times. Johri Lal was then booked under sections 328, 384 and 376 IPC. Another video of the MLA had gone viral in which he was asking not to work for Dalits who had not voted for him.
