Activists of Thanathai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam are performing outside Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's house. This protest against him started after the alleged remarks made on Ramasamy Periyar. In view of this situation, police was deployed near Rajinikanth's residence.

According to media reports, workers of Thanathai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam demonstrated outside Rajinikanth's house on Tuesday. On the comment made on Periyar, Rajinikanth said, "I did not say these things myself, they have also been published in the media, I can show them. I will not apologize for this."

Members of the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam had earlier lodged a complaint against Rajinikanth. He is accused of allegedly derogatory remarks against Periyar. The Kazhagam complaint demanded registration of a case against Rajinikanth under Section 153 (A) of the IPC. Rajinikanth, who has stepped into the world of politics since last time, had targeted the DMK, the main opposition party in Tamil Nadu, that Rajani had commented on M Karunanidhi and Periyar EV Ramsamy, the father of the Dravidian movement. Rajinikanth had said that Periyar was a staunch critic of Hindu deities, but no one criticized Periyar at that time.
