Superstar Rajinikanth starrer Petta is one of the most awaited films of January along with Viswasam, NTR Biopic, Vinaya Vidheya Rama and Manikarnika. The trailer of the film has released already and it is being loved by the audience. The film has got a good start in the US with the pre-sales being around Rs 1.22 crore.

Business Analyst Ramesh Bala shared the pre-sales collection of the film. His Tweet reads, “#Petta gets a head-start at the #USA Box office.. With Pre-sales nearing $175K (₹ 1.22 Crs] already.. Premieres on Jan 9th Wednesday..@BigThinkk.

The film directed is  by Karthik Subbaraj is a massive project and has music by Anirudh Ravichander. The multi-star cast ensemble Trisha Krishnan, Simran, Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha Muniskanth, Megha Akash and Sanath Reddyalongside Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be making his Tamil debut with this film. Reportedly Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the main antagonist in the film. This is the first Tamil film of Nawazuddin. He plays the role of Singaar Singh. The film will release on January 9.
