All in all the stomach-churning and death-defying stunts that Rajiv Adatia tried on Khatron Ke Khiladi 12 (KKK12), it comes as no shock that he was not sure about doing the reality show at the start. But he says once the shoot started, he had blast on the set. “Khatron Ke Khiladi was offered to me when I came out of the Bigg Boss (BB) house for the first time. I was the first confirmed participant for the show. The makers didn’t give me time to rest (laughs). I definitely had my doubts about doing it, but sabne bola tu kar sakta hai, aur maine kar liya. I had the most fun time on the set. I made many great friends like Faisal Shaikh, Jannat Zubair, Shivangi Joshi and Rubina Dilaik. My Bigg Boss friends Nishant Bhat and Pratik Sehajpal were also there. It was all great,” he said. Rajiv adds, “KKK is more about controlling your mind than the body. I was the most unfit participant to go for the show in comparison to the rest of the contenders, but I wanted to prove to the viewers and fans that the show is not about one’s physique or body. It’s a brain game. And I think if you can control your mind, you can win the show.”

The entrepreneur-turned-reality-show-participant gives credit to Bigg Boss for his popularity. “I was offered Bigg Boss many times before, but I wasn’t sure about doing it. Last year, when the makers approached me, my family and friends literally pushed me to go for it. I didn’t know main kya karunga BB house mein ja kar. So when I was there, I had no planning; I was myself. I am this mad in real life also. People connected with me because I think I am very normally relatable. I have received so much appreciation and love since then, and I am sure it will grow after KKK,” he says.

‘There’s still love between Raqesh and Shamita’ Rajiv says Shamita Shetty, who is like a sister to him, was a stern support for him on BB15. “I have known Shamita for years, and she is a very loyal friend and a great indivisual. It was smooth for me to do the show with her,” he says.

Shamita a few days ago announced her breakup with boyfriend Raqesh Bapat. The two fell in love on BB OTT, and continued their love on BB15. Raqesh had to leave the show in between because of health problems. Talking about the #ShaRa separation, Rajiv says, “When you are in a show like that, you get attached to people very fast. Raqesh and Shamita tried to make the relationship work; they were dating when they came out of the show. There was a lot of respect and love there, and there still is. But sometimes things don’t work out – sometimes distance doesn’t work, lifestyles don’t connect – and that’s okay. Things change when you come out of the BB house. But they are still friends and adore each other a lot. I think they are better as friends. I met Shamita post her breakup, and she is doing okay. They are both fine.”

Rajiv, who was shooting in Delhi, visited the city after ten years. He says he likes everything about Delhi except, of course, the humid weather. “Bahut zyada humidity hai yahan par. Thankfully, it’s raining right now, but it’s still too humid for me. Apart from the weather, Delhi is wonderful. There’s a lot of history and culture in the city. Every part of Delhi has a story. It’s like London; London has the story and the culture. Main yaha (Delhi) bahut kam aata hoon, but I will come more often now because I adore the food here,” he says. One of his Delhi favorites, he says, is Ram laddo. “When I heard its name, I thought it was going to be a sweet laddoo, but it wasn’t. I liked it! Delhi’s street food surprises me every time, it’s wonderful.”
