Rajnath Singh meets visiting French Defense Minister Florance Parly

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his French counterpart Florence Parly on Friday, conducted wide-ranging discussions focused on strengthening bilateral defence and security cooperation as well as pressing regional challenges.

"Raksha Mantri Shri @rajnathsingh receives visiting French Defense Minister Ms @florence parly at Vigyan Bhawan."Parly arrived in Delhi on Thursday evening for a two-day visit. Before the talks began, Singh's office tweeted, "The 3rd India-France Annual Defense Dialogue will begin in a short while."

Officials had stated that the meetings will include current developments in Afghanistan as well as the situation in the Indo-Pacific region. The Indo-French strategic alliance is built on three pillars viz. defence and security, civil nuclear cooperation, and trade and investment.

Furthermore, India and France are expanding their cooperation in new sectors such as the Indian Ocean region, climate change, and long-term growth and development.

On a range of regional and global problems, including how to combat terrorism and extremism, the two countries have a high degree of agreement.
