Nepal Foreign Minister meets Defence Minister Rajnath regarding India-Nepal relations

New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met Nepalese Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gywali on Saturday after the talks, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, India-Nepal relations have immense potential. In a tweet, Rajnath Singh wrote that the meeting with Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali was excellent today.

Rajnath Singh further wrote that India's relations with Nepal are not confined to the governments of the two countries, but are governed by the people of both countries. India-Nepal relations are of unlimited potential. Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali is on a three-day visit to India on Thursday with Nepal's Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal. Earlier on Friday, Nepal's Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali held a meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to discuss bilateral relations.

The relationship between the two countries had become strained since Nepal released a new political map last year and showed Limpiadhura, Kalapani, and Lipulekh as part of Nepal. The talks between Nepalese Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Thursday reviewed all aspects of the two countries' bilateral relations and discussed the possibilities of cooperation to strengthen ties in key areas such as connectivity, trade, and energy.
