Imphal: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has made a big disclosure about his life while addressing a program. He said that his childhood dream was to go to the army and for this he had given proper examination, but due to family problems, this dream could not be fulfilled. The Defense Minister made these remarks while addressing personnel of the Assam Rifles and the 57th Mountain Division of the Indian Army in Imphal, Manipur.

Rajnath Singh said, 'I want to share a story of my childhood with all of you. I also wanted to join the army and for this, I also gave a short service commission exam. I had given the written test, but due to some circumstances in my family, including the death of my father, I could not join the army.' Rajnath further said that the meaning of the uniform itself is different. There is a lot of power in this uniform. He said that 'you will see if you give an army uniform to a child, his personality changes. There is charisma in this uniform.'

Army Chief General Manoj Pandey was also present along with the Defense Minister on this visit. Here he met with the soldiers and encouraged them. During this, the Defense Minister also remembered the bravery shown by the security forces during the India-China standoff. He said 'When the India-China standoff was going on, you all may not know, but I know and the army chiefs at that time know the valour and courage shown by our soldiers, the country will always be indebted to you.'
