New Delhi: Rajnath Singh took charge of the Ministry of Defense on Saturday and immediatelyhe held a meeting with the top military officers. Defense Minister Shripad Yasho Naik, Defense Secretary Sanjay Mitra and senior officials of the Ministry welcomed Rajnath Singh.

Rajnath Singh held a meeting with Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Air Force Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and newly appointed Navy Chief Karmibir Singh. Other senior officials of the Ministry including the Defense Secretary were present in the meeting. Amit Shah has also assumed the charge of Home Minister on Saturday. Home Minister Amit Shah thanked PM Modi after taking charge.
