New Delhi: After an uproar from the opposition during Question Hour on the clash between Indian and Chinese troops along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) at the Tawang border in Arunachal Pradesh, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned until 12 p.m. on Tuesday.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said, "At 2:00 p.m., the Defence Minister is scheduled to address the Yangtse incident in Tawang Sector, Arunachal Pradesh. I ask the chair to give him permission to address the House at 12:30 so that the matter can be discussed."

Members of the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha sent notices earlier in the day, in accordance with Rules 267 and 176 of the Rules of Procedure, requesting the suspension of business to hold a discussion of the clashes between Indian and Chinese soldiers at the Tawang border on December 9.

The MPs who have requested a discussion on the matter soon after both houses convene for the day are Ranjeet Ranjan, Randeep Singh Surjewala, L. Hanumanthaiah, Jebi Mather, Jajani Patil, Nasir Hussain, Manish Tewari, Manoj Kumar Jha, and Priyanka Chaturvedi.

The MPs want to examine the topic of the necessity for prompt action to stop such aggressions and safeguard India's interests along the international boundary while suspending Zero Hour and any applicable rules relating to Question Hour and other business of the day.
