New Delhi: During the ongoing monsoon session in Parliament, Rajya Sabha Speaker M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday suspended six Trinamool Congress (TMC) members who were creating ruckus with placards in front of the Asana over the Pegasus espionage controversy for the entire day. In the morning, when the Chairman informed about accepting the notice given for discussion on the issue of farmers and rejecting other notices, members of Trinamool Congress and other opposition parties came before the asana and raised slogans demanding a discussion on the Pegasus espionage controversy.

Venkaiah Naidu requested these members to return to their seats and allow action to be taken. He said that the names of the members who have come in front of the asana and are showing placards will be published under Rule 255 and they will be suspended for the entire day. When there was no uproar, the Chairman disobeyed the asana and asked the agitating MPs to leave the House under Rule 255. He himself did not name anyone and asked the Rajya Sabha Secretariat to name these members.

The bulletin said, "These Rajya Sabha members came in front of the asana with placards, did not obey the asana and their conduct this morning was completely unfair. The Chairman had asked him to walk out of the House under Rule 255. Later, the Parliamentary Bulletin stated that the six Trinamool Congress MPs have been asked to withdraw for the day includes Dola Sen, Md. Nadimul Haque, Abir Ranjan Biswas, Shanta Chhetri, Arpita Ghosh and Mausam Noor
