New Delhi: The farmers' agitation against the new agricultural law brought by the Centre is not going to end so soon. Indian Farmers Union (IFU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait has said that we will stand on the borders of Delhi by December. Hundreds of farmers have been agitating on the Delhi border since November last year. Tikait said, ''we are not afraid of the heat, the fans have been put up."
On Republic Day, Tikait said that farmers are not afraid of the case. He said the agitation will continue till the central government repeals these laws and the MSP is not given a guarantee. He said the agitation will continue till November-December. Tikait has made it clear that the government should not be under the misconception that farmers are going anywhere. Addressing a mahapanchayat of farmers, he said that the government feels that the farmers will return home in the summer.
Tikait said that even earlier, he thought that we will return home in the harsh winter, but we are not going anywhere, we have installed fans here. Tikait alleged that individuals who assisted in the peasant movement are facing harassment of government agencies. He said that agricultural laws are not for the benefit of farmers. Tikait said that the next target of the Center is to create such a situation that the farmers themselves leave their land.
